Now Showing: Susan Spjut

For those of you that have been in the shop, you might have seen my pelican painting (not pictured). Well, we acquired the painting from the Bogan Gallery a few months back. It's gotten so much attention that we are now showing a few more paintings by the same artist Susan Spjut. 

Susan helped clean up the Gulf after the BP oil spill last summer. She was so inspired by Galveston and the bird life here that she painted this series. 

Starting with a layer of newspaper with articles about the oil spill, she uses oil paints and oil from the actual spill to paint these beautiful birds. We are so lucky to have these great paintings in our shop.  

Don't Forget ArtWalk!

We're all excited about ArtWalk tomorrow (Saturday, August 27th). Oh, and by the way, it is the 1 Year Anniversary of the Store Opening! Although Robyn won't be in attendance (since she is still abroad), she will be here in spirit. I hope y'all can come out and celebrate with us! ArtWalk starts at 6 pm and ends around 9 pm. Don't forget to come out to ArtWalk tomorrow (Saturday, July 16th) night! We'll be open late from 6pm till 9pm serving sangria! It will be a fun night, so come out and bring your families! There are new artists being showcased all down Postoffice Street and thorough Downtown Galveston.
