Lisa Stickley in the Studio!

The packages are arriving from across the pond! One of the first big boxes is from Lisa Stickley London. She designs custom pieces for Anthropologie (one of my favorite stores). We have her whole collection of bags now.

I love the black and white print. It almost looks like rickrack. The bags are made out of matt coated canvas.

Look how perfect these little make up bags are! There's little compacts and luggage tags, too. How fabulous would it be to have a whole travel set out of one of these prints? I'd feel like an old Hollywood star.

Artist Studio Tour

Next month I am participating in a Galveston Artist Studio Tour! I'm so excited. I'll have a quilt hanging in the Bogan Gallery (2217 Postoffice Street, or right across the street from me!). I can't wait to share a picture of the finished piece I'm working on! Think vintage fabrics in patriotic colors. There's more information here.

All the Pretty Things

I'm still trying to get all my pictures from my buying trip in Europe. Like a ditz, I forgot my camera and am waiting for my good friend to send me some pictures. But we do have some great new things in the shop.

Bubble bath! I'm so excited for our bubble bath. There are four different scents, but my favorite is Meringue. Did you read that? Meringue bubble bath! It smells just like freshly whipped meringue, and I should know, I've spent many years mixing egg whites together.
These are French bread boards made out of reclaimed antique pumpkin pine from an old Galveston building. Can't you imagine a spread of fancy cheese, sliced meats, and an array of fruits on top of one of these? The wood has so much charm and character.

We got in these gorgeous cards, journals, and bags! So bright and cheery and perfect for spring!

While in London I had to stop by and pick up some Liberty of London fabric. These scarves can be worn in your hair, as a belt, or just draped around your neck. They're so bright and beautiful!

A Nice Surprise

I got an email today from a customer, Donna Baumann from Huntington Beach, CA, sent me a picture of a baby blanket she did out of my Beach House fabric. It's so pretty! Thanks so much Donna for sending the picture! I'm always curious about what projects people make out of my fabric. If anyone else has pictures of projects feel free to email them my way!

Texas Live Magazine

Check out our new favorite magazine Texas Live! It's great place to find out about unique towns across Texas.

They also did a nice video of the store. I was out of town when they stopped by, so Martin stepped in to explain my design process. They also wrote a blog post about us! Check it out here http://www.texasliveblog.com/archives/824.

All Wrapped Up

(top images via The Sartorialist, bottom left The Clothes Horse, bottom right Karla's Closet)

I love scarves. They are a perfect accessory, especially if you're not fond of wearing lots of jewelry. Just wrap it, knot it, or drape it around your neck and you've completed your outfit. Since it's not that cold down here off the Gulf Coast (well, other than the last couple of weeks) we usually don't get to wear scarves. But I just received a shipment straight from London. A box full of scarves ranging from light to medium weights.

This linen scarf can be worn year round, so delicate and pretty.

Slightly heavier wool scarf with embroidery.

Who doesn't love stripes and polka dots?

These are great for a splash of color. One of a kind scarves made out of Indian sari fabric. And I also can't get over that beautiful striped wool scarf.
